1. The David P. Twomey III Creativity Award
    The David P. Twomey III Creativity Award
    honors the memory of the first coordinator of the Rosarito Film Festival. David was a gifted student and strong advocate for human rights who contracted H1N1 and passed away in 2009. In addition to this award, David was also honored by Emerson College in a lecture in his name and a gift for the outstanding public diplomacy student at the college.
  2. The Pedro Rodrigues Public Diplomacy Award
    The Pedro Rodrigues Public Diplomacy Award
    honors the life of this Lisbon student who was assistant to the director of the LA program and a passionate member and advocate of the Rosarito Film Festival. Pedro completed his MA with honors and was on his way to LA and Rosarito in the summer of 2010, when he was tragically killed in an auto accident in Portugal.

    The Zulene Payne Inspiration Award
    honors the passion and love of life of the mother of Janice and Gregory Payne. Zulene attended the Rosarito Film Festival from its beginning and especially loved the idealism and zest for success prevalent in the Mexican participants and the Emersonians.

    The Janice Payne Best Actress Award
    To name the honor of the co-founder of the festival, in recognition of her compassionate leadership in connecting cultures and as the funding Director of the Boston University Los-Angeles program and funding of the internship program in Emerson Los-Angeles.

    The Husam Algosaibi Leadership Award
    honors the life of Husam, one of the founders of the Saudi-American exchange, the first grassroots, people-to-people efforts after 911. A graduate of Boston University and Emerson College, Husam was an established entrepreneur and passionate advocate for human rights globally.

    In memory of the 50 year trustee of Emerson College, honors the filmmaker who demonstrates the ability to tackle difficult challenges through their artistic work and passion for communication.

    The Hugo Torres Best Picture Award
    honors the funding father of Rosarito Film Festival, in recognition of his effort in public relations and crisis management in forging a new approach in media relations. It also an attribute to Mr.Torres’s philanthropic character and love of Baja California.
